Today in reading the Hurricanes were called down to the mat for a reading lesson with Mr George.
We got given a connected journal number 3, 2002.
We were learning about enviro schools, reading Hukanui: Enviroschool.
We shared our prior knowledge of what we thought an enviro school is or what we knew about enviroschools.
After we had talked about what we knew, we went to research about what an enviro school is using the class iPads. When we found information, we recorded it in a circle map.
After researching about enviorschools, we talked together about what we had found they are (and we are an enviro school!). It is environmentally friendly, and it could be through recycling, having lunch time activities such as flax weaving, art, etc and how they improve a plain area in their school with plants or something to make it better. Mr George asked us to think about what around our school we think could be improved and needs a bit of attention? We then set of to think about it. Mine was a pathway to walk up from the back gate instead of walking on the mud. From here we are working through the technology process to work to solve this problem.
