Hurricanes reading group

In reading today we read 'The Bat Detective'.  Laykym helped teach the group, thinking about our learning goal of finding and retrieving facts from a non-fiction text.
We read about the bat detective, who is a young guy who was interested in finding out how the logging in the forest was affecting the Snails.  He used a device that he had made to listen to the clicks that the bats made when flying to help them navigate.
After reading, we used a circle map to collect together the facts that we found about bats, with the question for our frame of reference "How did he behave like a scientist?"
